My artistic journey has followed a winding path, weaving together digital and traditional mediums. My foundation in computer science, coupled with my studies at Columbia College Chicago (Bachelor of Arts, Interactive Arts & Media, 2015), Illinois BIS (Leadership Development for Manufacturers, 2018) and Sandler (Sales Foundations, 2020) informs my approach to web design and development, enhancing communication and project management through Agile methodologies. This unique blend allows me to translate intricate concepts into compelling digital experiences for diverse clients. My work spans various industries, including projects for the Forest Preserves of Cook County, The Sick Muse, Hydro Inc., Cognizant, Clovis Inc., The Lyric Exchange and Century 21 S.G.R.
Parallel to my technical endeavors, I nurture a dedicated fine art practice. Drawing and exploration have been lifelong pursuits, and my artwork, often inspired by the natural world, has been featured in exhibitions such as OPAL's 2024 "Garden of Ghosts." This connection to the tangible world provides a grounding counterpoint to my digital work.
Beyond visual arts and web development, I explore sound through music, having released works under the alias alixplox ('Cosmic Cruise' 2022, 'Hadal Rain' 2021). I also co-wrote, produced and performed with friends Axel 'The Creature' Schulze, Charlie Veirbeiren and Tia Kristia in Circus in the Sea, contributing to past releases like 'Holly the Spectre' (2018) and 'Incognito' (2015). Collaboration fuels my creativity, and I've been privileged to work with a diverse group of talented individuals on many creative endeavors, including Amy Casey, David Jaffe, Edgar Decay, Kyle Mattimore, Teza Belmond and others over the years.
Ultimately, I'm driven by a deep curiosity to explore the evolving relationships between technology, traditional art and the natural world, striving to craft immersive experiences that resonate. Whether through code, canvas or sonic soundscapes, I aim to forge connections and inspire discovery. I welcome inquiries regarding commissions, exhibition opportunities or collaborative projects.
