Wandering where art, technology and nature intertwine
About Me
I work at the intersection of art, technology and nature, creating experiences that invite reflection and connection with the world around us. My practice spans visual art, interactive media and layered soundscapes — blending digital tools with materials drawn from nature.
Since earning a bachelor’s degree in interactive arts and media from Columbia College Chicago in 2015, I have combined creativity and technology across web development, project management, digital marketing and ecological preservation. These experiences — both behind the screen and in the field — shape the themes, materials and narratives in my work. I have collaborated with organizations including the Forest Preserves of Cook County and companies such as Hydro, Cognizant, Clovis and Century 21.
Visual Art
My mixed media art portfolio captures fleeting moments of everyday life and the subtle beauty of flora and fauna through an impressionistic lens. Rooted in nature journaling and urban sketching, these pieces come alive through ink, acrylics, colored pencils and other layered techniques that create rich, chromatic narratives.
In my "Healing Landscapes" series, I transform invasive buckthorn wood into canvases for ecological and aesthetic renewal. By reclaiming these species, I create work that both celebrates and supports native wildflowers and woodlands. Each composition follows the natural grain, knots and irregularities of the wood, reflecting the poetry of impermanence and the subtle elegance of nature’s imperfections.
Original works are available online and at select events. My art has been exhibited at venues including the Oak Park Art League and Art City.
Music and Sound
As my solo project alixplox, I create layered, atmospheric soundscapes using vintage synthesizers, drum machines and modern production tools. Albums including "Cosmic Cruise" (2022) and "Offworlds" (2021) explore melancholic, cinematic textures and have appeared in video games, podcasts and other media.
I also perform with the band Circus in the Sea, contributing to albums including "Holly the Spectre" (2018) and "Incognito" (2015). We have played at iconic Chicago venues including Subterranean, Beat Kitchen and The Hideout, sharing the stage with both local and national acts.
Let's Connect
I welcome opportunities for commissions, exhibitions and multimedia collaborations. Whether exploring visual, auditory or interactive projects — or simply exchanging ideas — I look forward to connecting and creating together.
